The purchase price is only the beginning
In its 19 June 2026 post, IBG Property describes the work behind property management: bookings, guest communication, check-in, cleaning and maintenance. For an overseas owner, those responsibilities matter alongside the building itself.
Five questions worth asking
- Which services are included in the management fee?
- Which platform fees, utilities, repairs and replacement costs fall to the owner?
- What booking, income and expense information appears in the owner’s reports?
- How does personal use affect availability and the rental assumptions?
- What happens if the owner wants to change managers?
Read the assumptions, not just the headline
Separate revenue from costs. Ask for seasonal assumptions, vacancy and maintenance allowances, and compare multiple scenarios. Portfolio-level occupancy should not be treated as a forecast for a new property.
